famous Homes - The Luna Display Home quote

This weekend I visited the display community in Churchlands to show the way a divulge of all the new homes that have recently been built. It's a nice change to see some narrow block designs and showcase a few innovative ideas from Perth builders. The first display home I walked in was by famed Homes called The Luna.The Luna is situated on the projection close to the entry of the estate and it certainly catches the eye. The sharp lines and popular ,favorite mix of materials on the facade is well conception out and nicely proportioned. I have to give props to the bricklayers who laid the highlight face brickwork in stackbond pattern - which takes a lot of skill to keep the vertical joints looking even, which is more difficult again when it's done on a two storey home. The colour task is quite safe but goes well with this modern originate and the expanding of the galvanised steel columns is in fact nice.

Immediately upon entering the home I view the small study to the right, and I mean, this is small. But with narrow lots there has to be compromise and this is it. 3.0m x 2.4m wouldn't cut it for me personally, but it would be more than adequate for kids doing homework or just as an extra room for the non-serious work from home adult.

The remaining ground floor is dominated by the living areas which are in fact nice and open with an exquisite central courtyard which allows plentifulness of light in straight through the home. The kitchen isn't large any way and if this home did have a house of 5 there probably wouldn't be adequate preparation and storehouse space, which is an oversight in my opinion. A home theatre also enjoys access to the courtyard but could do with a door to detach from the main living. I expect this is to keep the costs down as would be the missing exhaust fan above the Ensuite shower. Paint peeling off your ceilings here we come!

One note with the courtyard, there is an exquisite highlight here which I know as a 'Vergola'. Now it may not be that single brand but a Vergola is an opening roof principles which acts similar to louvres and can be either motorised or have by hand winders. It's functional in that it can be done in summer giving you shade and the louvres opened in winter to allow the sun in.

Gripe: The only thing I spoke to the sales representative about was this highlight request if it was included in the base price. "Yes it is" I was told. When I asked if it was in fact a Vergola the reply I received was "I don't know what it's called, I call it a 'motorised cover thingy'.

'Oh really'?

I was going mention that I needed to relax myself and would have half expected to be given directions "walk down the hallway and take the second door on your left, that's where you'll find the sit down flushy thingy". I mean come on, you're selling a home and you don't know what one of the included products in the home is called??

I recently bought a new car in 2010 and it has an self-operating parallel parking principles which allows you to push a button and the car does the work for you. When I took it for a test drive the salesmen Adam was in fact excited to show me how it worked and asked if we could swap seats for 2 minutes so he could demonstrate, to which I gladly obliged. He then proceeded to show me with precision how the principles worked while explaining that he was new to this single dealership and hadn't sold cars with as many features as this before. Which is why, he prolonged to explain, he "was up every night for the first week reading every car by hand learning how each car works". On driving back to the car yard Adam prolonged to interpret highlight after highlight telling me to "push this" and "pull that". It was impressive and his enthusiasm was genuine. It's probably one of the reasons why he managed to sell me that car.

Upstairs on the first floor you enter the bedroom areas which also has a decent sitting area. Three rooms of disjunction is great in a narrow lot this this, Open plan living, Theatre and a Sitting room. Everything upstairs is what you'd expect. The scholar bedroom is openly combined with the Ensuite, which is probably best than conclusion it off and making the room feel small. However, the missing exhaust fan in the shower does bother me. One other issue with the ensuite is the way the towels hang down in the middle of the wall and the vanity cupboard. Those towels are not going to dry for 9 months of the year when they are sitting like that.

Recommendations to possible buyers:

If you're seriously inspecting buying The Luna Display Home by famed Homes then I'd recommend you ask for the following changes to be priced as options for your consideration;

Delete the linen and the nib wall next to the Kitchen and enlarge the Kitchen benchtop and cupboards straight through to the Laundry wall. Add a single door linen behind the first floor Wc with the door facing the sitting room. This will push the Wc forward into the open space and may only wish a small reduction in size to the toilet. It's a toilet, so you can do without the space. Add someone else linen to the Laundry on the left side as you enter. It can be done out of cabinetwork instead of brickwork which will maximise your space. Add a door to the home theatre. Who can watch a movie there when man is sitting right outside trying to watch Tv without having a door. Add the exhaust fan to the Ensuite. The steam from the shower will make the paint peel otherwise. Extend the scholar Bedroom/Wc wall by 1m and reposition the towel rail on the ensuite side of this wall. Sure, it reduces the extensive opening of the ensuite, but practicality should win out here.

Stats:

Price: 5,350 for the display version and 9,300 cut down version

Areas:
Ground Floor House 101.40 m Garage 39.60 m Porch 2.25 m First Floor House 119.94 m Overall Area: 263.19 m

Display Version Price p/m = ,540 p/m

Overall this is one of the enjoyable display home reviews I've conducted recently as the originate is clever, maximises it's space on the block and has some nice features.
